A Jacobin Socialist Revolution Here In America — Complete With Calls For Guillotines
For the last several years, American classicist, military historian, and political commentator Victor Davis Hanson has written and spoken extensively about how America is in “a Jacobin Revolution of the sort that in 1793-94 nearly destroyed France.”
“The Democratic Party vanished sometime in 2020,” Hanson wrote in 2023. “It was absorbed by hard-left ideologues. They were bent on radically altering, or hijacking, existing institutions to force radical, equality-of-result agendas that otherwise do not earn majority support.”
“The decade-long French Revolution that broke out in 1789 soon devolved into far more than removing the monarchy,” Hanson wrote in 2023, “as it became antithetical to the earlier American precedent. American notions of liberty and freedom were seen as far too narrow, given the state, if only all-powerful and all-wise, could mandate ‘equality’ and force ‘fraternity’ among its subjects.
“Each cycle of French revolutionary fervor soon became more radicalized and cannibalistic—until it reached its logical ends of violent absurdity,” he stated.
Lest anyone forget, the guillotine as a symbol of the “resistance” was popularized during President Trump’s first term in the White House, most famously by liberal comedian Kathy Griffin, when she tweeted herself holding a bloodied and detached Donald Trump head.
Now, with President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, and after four years of Joe Biden and their allies in power, the neo-Jacobins have dusted off their symbolic guillotines and their rhetoric of decapitation.
This time, however, they are not just aiming at Trump, they are also using it in their protests against Elon Musk and Tesla.

Her message to @elonmusk : “if you want to repeat history get in the basket”

And, if one thinks the neo-Jacobins’ rhetoric is just that–rhetoric–one only needs to view the violence and arson incidents that have taken place at Tesla dealerships around the country to know that they are serious.
So far, no one within the Democratic Party has condemned the at least 15 incidents of violence and vandalism that has occurred, nor are there any known Democratic Party officials condemning the rhetoric of their Jacobin allies.
